INSTALLATION

Upon choosing your fire place we will carry out a site visit and a free visual survey and advise you on any extra works if required. If there are and building works required we can do these as well.

Once chosen we will design with our made to measure service, build, deliver and install your new fireplace.

If you chose gas, 3 tests will be carried out on the day of installation, starting with a meter test to show there are no gas leaks on your property, followed by a smoke test to the flue showing it has no blockages and that the flue has a good “pull” to lift fumes away and also the correct cowl has been fitted.

We will also inspect to see if you have or need a lintel if one is required we can supply and fit this before installation starts (extra costs may apply) the installation will then proceed in accordance with manufacturers instruction and to current building regulations.

Upon completion of your installation (if gas) a final test is carried out called “the spillage test” which shows us, and the customer that the flue is taking all fumes and none are coming out into the room, this test must pass if it does not pass the flue may require further works (extra cost may apply) before we can hand over a complete installation to you.

If your installation is an electric fire we will discuss with you were the cables are to run this will also apply with any down lights on any surround gas or electric. If the electric fire is to be fitted into a flue then we will block off the flue from above the fire this stops the fire “working too hard” and is a requirement of the manufacturer.
